Union of Angolans in the United Kingdom
Supporting our community through compassion, advocacy, and action since 2021
Who We Are
We are Union of Angolans in the United Kingdom, recently registered as a Charity CIO-association N.1201463. We have mainly worked with our collaborators, individual expertise, and volunteers.
Our aim has been to relieve financial hardship through the provision of grants, information and such support as the trustees deem appropriate.
Targeted at the Angolan community and others who face enormous difficulties. Difficulties that arise from the language barrier, lack of knowledge of the system, or simply guidance and advice.
Our Story
Founded on compassion, built on community
In Memory of Carlos Cristóvão (Kota Kado)
Back in 2021, our country fella Carlos Cristóvão (Kota Kado) passed away. The willingness and support that everyone had shown, inspired all the mourners within the Angolan community.
Soon after that, UARU was born on 31st of July 2021 by 10 individual people, who together with a common belief of sense of community, drew up a plan of how to support disadvantaged and vulnerable people within the communities.
